JPM are proud to announce that a courtesy van is now available for fleet and regular customers. The vehicle is available by pre-arranged appointment. Customers need to provide their own insurance for the vehicle. Written proof of insurance arrangements must be provided when the vehicle is collected.

Subaru Engine Rebuilds

Standard Engine Rebuild - £1,800 + VAT

To rebuild an unmodified engine back to standard specification. Rebuild price is almost independent of model or year, £1,800 + VAT*. Uprated oil pumps are available on request.

Price includes: main bearings, big end bearings, new crank, heat exchange, necessary gaskets, timing belt, oil pump, replacement oils and fluids, oil filter, ignition fuel and boost check and labour.

*Price subject to change if abnormal internal damage within the engine is found.

Stage 1 Engine Rebuild - £2,800 + VAT

This rebuilds your engine with standard compression settings, allowing your vehicle to run safely on the original ECU. Uprated internal components are used so that future engine tuning can be realised. The STI rods used are capable of taking 1.8 bar boost pressure consistently while running standard compression. The internal components of this engine will be able to sustain a reliable 400bhp allowing for future tuning potential.

To liberate the potential of this engine, and aftermarket ECU needs to be fitted. This will cost from £1000+VAT. This price is inclusive of labour and mapping. Power levels will depend on injectors, manifolds, turbos, ECU mapping, among other factors, however 380bhp should be easily achieved.

Price includes: forged pistons 0.5 oversize, rings, re-bore, version 8 STI rods , uprated oil pump, main bearings, big end bearings, new crank, heat exchange, necessary gaskets, timing belt, oil pump, replacement oils and fluids, oil filter, ignition fuel and boost check and labour.

Stage 2 Engine Rebuild - £3,800 + VAT

This stage will need aftermarket ECU to enable to run (we can supply, fit and map). Consistent fuel supply will also be required. With these modifications, and suitable turbo, 450bhp+ will be achieved.

Price includes: M14 head studs, high compression forged pistons and rings, nitrided crank, head skim, steel rods, re-bore, spark plugs , uprated oil pump, main bearings, big end bearings, heat exchange, necessary gaskets, timing belt, oil pump, replacement oils and fluids, oil filter.

Stage 3 Engine Rebuild - POA

Price includes: M14 head studs, high compression pistons and rings, steel crank from solid billet, head skim, bronze ringed tipped block, head rings, cams, flat top forged pistons, timing belt protector, oil cooler, baffled sump, valves reground to head, steel rods, re-bore, spark plugs , uprated oil pump, main bearings, big end bearings, necessary gaskets, timing belt, oil pump, replacement oils and fluids, oil filter.

John Pye Motors Stage 2 Impreza Fast Road Tuning Kit - £6,000 + VAT

This tuning kit will take an existing running Impreza from your standard power output to in the region of 400bhp depending on base engine. This tuning kit if suitable for all ages of Impreza both 2.0 and 2.5, including JDM imports, EXCEPT for models with fly-by-wire throttle. Vehicles with fly-by-wire throttle (hatch and later hawkeye) can still be accommodated but at extra cost - please contact us for details.

Please note, if your car comes with a Twin Scroll Turbo will recommend you keep this, and we will amend the price accordingly.

Price includes: V34 Turbo, uprated injectors, front mounted intercooler, exhaust manifold, full exhaust system, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, aftermarket ECU (inc fitting and mapping), high compression forged pistons and rings, nitrided crank, head skim, steel rods, re-bore, spark plugs , uprated oil pump, main bearings, big end bearings, heat exchange, necessary gaskets, timing belt, oil pump, replacement oils and fluids, oil filter.

Thrust Bearings:

Originally the engines Subaru produced used center thrust bearing engines. Over the years these gave way to the current end thrust bearings engines. John Pye Motors can convert a center thrust bearing engine to an end thrust bearing engine. This allows older center thrust blocks to accept the newer end thrust cranks. This service is £250 + VAT


Head rings:

We can fit head rings to your heads, to help with high compression engines or 2.5 litre engine conversions. This gives you a much tighter seal between the block and the head. £220 per head + VAT.


Head stud drilling:

When running larger horsepower it is advisable to have different head studs fitted. This means the blocks need to be drilled and threaded, and in the case of M14 - M14 studs the heads need to be drilled too.

  • M14 - M12 studs - £140 pair
  • M14 - M14 studs - £200 pair

Studs can be supplied if needed.


EGR removal:

The latest Subaru engines have an EGR system which is best removed when engine tuning. This leaves a gallery linking the cylinders together on each head that requires block. Therefore, we then drill the gallery out and press a blanking tube into it to block off the holes, and also fit a blanking plate to reslove this issue. These custom parts are only available at John Pye Motors Ltd.

The engine needs to be removed to carry this out, but we have completed this task without removing the heads.

Manifold converter:

These converter plates enable you to fit the newer manifold from a front entry turbo engine to an earlier WRX engine. The need for these plates is because the stud pattern on the heads is slightly different. Once these plates and the new manifold are fitted, it means you can have a front entry turbo. Also, these plates give you 20mm extra clearance (approx) which allows for a bigger inlet pipe. We also have available adapter plates for different idle valves, and all the other parts needed for the conversion.
